We can all use a few extra dollars in our pockets to help with life’s expenses. And any expert will tell you the benefits of paying a few extra dollars into your mortgage every month to help pay it off early and save on interest. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun at the same time!

We live in one of the nicest cities in the world. In fact, don’t take my word for it. National Geographic recently voted Sydney in the top 10 beach cities of the world!

There’s plenty of free or inexpensive events around for your family. Many local councils run free festivals, author talks, kid’s book readings and movies under the stars. Or just get out amongst nature. Take your kids for a bushwalk, a trip to the beach or a bike ride. Sydney also has some beautiful picnic spots and lookouts. Hire a tinny and take the kids fishing, or take the free option and fish from a river bank. Make home made pizzas or cupcakes with the kids.

Sydney was voted in the top 10 cities of the world last year for a reason – get out there and enjoy it!
